Cure chat tonight

Rev. Heron will be hosting another Cure chat tonight at 7pm pacific, 8pm mountain, 9pm central, 10pm eastern. Topic is: Album delay? New EP? New DVD? What do you think about all the recent news?

164 comments:

  1. i propose we hold a name-the-album contest. your album title must include the number 13 in it. winner will win 13 dates with robert smith himself... each of which will of course be postponed and finally never come to fruition.

    1. Tongue 13 (cover art of 13 writhing Robert tongues)
    2. 13 Delays
    3. 13 of the Best Songs Ever, Unless of Course You Hate Them, Then They Would be 13 of the Worst Songs Ever, But Really, I Think it's the Best Cure Album Ever and You're Not a Fan if You Don't Like it, So Fuck Off! YAY! Onwards...RSX
    4. 13 Horn Dogs
    5. RS XIII

  2. I'm sorry but #2 made me laugh out loud. Very clever as usual Cat.

Just like when the tour was postponed and people were calling it 4got 2Tour.

    ReplyDelete
  3. thought you were supposed to be working?

    ReplyDelete
  4. She is definitely distracted today.

Ah hell, it's Friday.....that's what Friday's are for.

    ReplyDelete
  5. ok, ok.

    1. cat is lame and says she wants to work but what she really wants to do is prove her superiority on the boards (that would be way too long for itunes).

    2. actually, 1 is great! don't need any more.

    :D

    ReplyDelete
  6. jeez, fine, i'm getting no love here.

    1) dem ole 13 blues

  10. Great idea, Cat. I love your 3rd one. I would definately pick that one.

CG2, I like yours too, very witty.

  12. Yes, I know mine sucks. Cut me some slack though I am still on percocet (sadly, the last one).

    ReplyDelete
  13. 1) Upside Down Dream 13 (well, inverting things tends to convey distaste for them. :^P)

    2) 13 Minus Dirge

    3) 13 Wah Wah

    4) 13 ( ) ( ) (Halloween edition)

    5) 13 Imaginary Friends

    6) It just now occurred to me that 13 is often used as an emoticon, so just plain 13

  15. Dear Cat: Robert has just phoned me on the hotline and asked me to post this:

ANYONE WHO THINKS THIS ALBUM ISN'T CALLED DREAM THIRTEEN, AND MAKES UP GOOFY NAMES FOR IT, IS EITHER LYING OR STUPID OR BOTH.

    ONWARDS
    RSX

    ReplyDelete
  16. Craig, on your sooper-seekrit Ruby-woo-red Cure hotline phone, right!?

    ReplyDelete
  17. HA! i'm both! i admit it!

    go robert!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Craig: Is is like the Bat Phone?
A direct line from inside the Cure world to CoF!!!
    The Cure Phone! LOL

  19. The runners up for this round:

13 bananas in a monkeysuit dream

    Upside Down Dream 13

And the WINNER for this round:

For 13 Billion Years We Wait

Congratulations CPG2! You move on to ROUND TWO of the NAME-THAT-CURE-ALBUM Challenge!

    Post your picks, peeps!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I guess I qualify as the latter? (crosses eyes)

I actually think Dream Thirteen is a lovely name. I'm just having fun with Cat who is the wittiest person I've met in a while. Laugh at it!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Crackers!
I kould kill for an extention of that sooper-seekret telephone.

    ReplyDelete
  22. YAY~ I win 13 dates with Robert that will never come to fruition!

    ReplyDelete
  23. (and yes, Robert REALLY did say that at the official once! for those NOT in the know)

    ReplyDelete
  24. CPG2, no, not yet. There are THIRTEEN rounds to this competition!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Cat, Robert said what on the official, exactly??

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ah, it wasn't specified how many rounds was it? Oh well. Onwards to round two!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Cat:13 rounds followed by 13 postponements!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Back when Robert cancelled - sorry, POSTPONED - the tour, fans were lashing out at him quite brutally. Including me, which I now regret. Anyway, he was responding to the general discontent, and said FUCK OFF! YAY!

    ROFLMAO

I find it hilarious. He wasn't responding to one fan in particular, I don't think...just to the general lashing-out.

You HAVE to see the humor in it. Sure, it's brutal, but come ON. HI
    LARRY
    US

    ReplyDelete
  29. i think robert is likely a cocky ass who swims in his own universe, but i find him to be QUITE darkly amusing.

    ReplyDelete
  30. orange est un des show le plus populaire de the cure a. Mon avis sa serais normal de le publié en dvd et sur tout the show en 1993 au us je crois?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm likin' them tongues, meself.

    >:-PPPPPPPPPPPPP

    ReplyDelete
  32. 13 ways to love your leaver.

robert, i am breaking up with you!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I still actually like Dream 13. :^P

    ReplyDelete
  34. (Ab)surdteen long months and still no tracklist... Come on I'll do the job of sorting out the songs. Just send me the mp3's right now!

    ReplyDelete
  35. je me demande après tout ca ! si il y aura pas une autre tourner mondial?

    ReplyDelete
  36. I never got mad about the tour. I don't remember Robert doing anything like that before; but it was not out of his character.

After all these years, you think you guys would be use to him! ^_^

I mean, he's said 13 TIMES The Cure was breaking up after whichever-tour. The solo album? (It was The Top-that's the closest we'll ever get!)... Hell, half the things he's ever said in interviews were all embellishments, half-dreamt up stories, or just him spinning a tale.

And if you knew your Cure, you'd know all that. I love him to death, and think it's just part of his eccentric, psychedelic self.

    ReplyDelete
  37. that'd be great if Robert actually picked one of our album titles.

    I'd call mine

    13 Ways To Go

    or

    13 Dreams

And Robert, I do consider a 17 track 80 min cd a double.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Seriously, I like 'Dream 13' as well.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh my god CPG2, I just love
    13 Imaginary Release Dates and
For 13 Billion Years We Wait! Brilliant!

    ReplyDelete
  40. and yes, by all means, call it clockwise 13 :-)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Cat: No, I've never been to any of the chats. Pisses me off that someone would do that.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Bloody hell, I always miss these chats...

    ReplyDelete
  43. Craig - I knew it wasn't you. I asked a question you would know the answer too - and the dude got it wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I wouldn't know one way or the other, Craig. Sorry, I thought it was you. :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Craig, perhaps their intentions were honorable, even if their actions were a bit misguided? You're well-liked, and I guess that someone just wanted your presence in the room enough to do that.

    ReplyDelete
  46. wow, so we had a fake craig, a fake robert, a fake simon, and a fake porl in the chat. epic!

    ReplyDelete
  47. :)

i'm so happy to know you guys. i know that sounds weird and cheesy just all of the sudden, but i really am glad you're all here.

    ReplyDelete
  48. how's the weather in the future?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hi Sofia - the weather is great in the future! How's your world?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hi Elise *running hug*; I can't get enough of them!
I'll cath up with you all later, gotta go worky, worky!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Geez! How I wanted to stay here and chat!

    ReplyDelete
  52. sorry, craig, that someone would do that. :-( not cool at all. you are indeed well-liked, and so i doubt the person had ill-intentions... just misguided. from now on we will KNOW it wasn't you and slap that person 13 ways to the moon.

    ReplyDelete
  53. anah, i agree with you... LOL at psychedelic self... but you have to agree that it was understandable that people would be angry about losing money on plane tix, etc. i was very lucky to be able to use those tix for something else, but some people weren't able to recover their moolah. sure, we take risks when we book these things, but i think postponing a tour like that is a bit extreme. it does indeed fit within robert's persona, but that doesn't mean people aren't allowed to get frustrated with such an audacious move. after all, MONEY is involved. if it weren't, it wouldn't be such a big deal at all.

all the same, some of the hostility, including mine, was disproportionate, and robert had every right to lash back in the way he did.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Craig - I feel partly responsible just because people were asking why you weren't there and I said that I thought I saw you last week.......Several people in the room disagreed and said you never came to the chats.

But again, I really didn't know any different because this was only my second scheduled chat.

Right after that little conversation, one of the guests that had been lurking changed their name to ChainofFlowers.

Nothing bad was said.....just an imposter as far as I could tell. And there were alot of imposters! Everyone but Jason Cooper was there for Christ's sake.

Anyhow, now I know that you don't participate in the chats. I won't fall for another Craig imposter.

    ReplyDelete
  55. K peeps, it's time for Round Two of the NAME THAT CURE ALBUM challenge. Round One saw CPG2 wiping out the competition with her title which wrapped Cure lyrical content, humor, fan frustration, and the number 13 into a cute, clever package. Can you outwit our Round One winner? You won't know if you don't try!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Awe Poor Jason, he's always the one thats out.

Craig that sucks, sorry that happened. Its one thing to pretend to be a Band member b/c we all know that they would never be there in a million years but to be you, well thats just tacky!

I know I am a bit late but I like

    13 ways

(andy the whole time I was reading thru I was thinking this name and then I saw yours and LOL'd)

    ReplyDelete
  57. That's just lame Craig. I guess it's the result of "going public". Sadly, some people just can't help but acting idiotically. Sad.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Here's my new entry for round two:

13 Gazillion Bloody Comedians, Here's the FUCKING Album Already.

    ReplyDelete
  59. (Oh, and it should include the standard "play this loud," but with an added "and STFU.")

    ReplyDelete
  60. my entry:

    "The Two Chord Cool"

    ReplyDelete
  61. just so everyone knows... there is a troll that comes into the chat room telling everyone to fuck off... quite lovely. :-)

ignore him/her, and if you are able to ban him/her, do so! and teach others how as well.

    have a great nite peeps!

    ReplyDelete
  62. My entries:

    Thir-fucking-teen

    13 Months Later Than Expected

    ReplyDelete
  63. Meh, I suck at this, but I wanna play too!

    -Universal 13: An Artist's Nightmare

    -13 Procrastinations

    ReplyDelete
  64. Heh, some of this is hilarious (notably the Madonna bit.) With all the recent talk of Coldplay and REM, I thought I would share it. Cheers.

    ReplyDelete
  65. seems to me if you're going to talk some shit about modest mouse and dinosaur jr you'd better back it up with some actual reasons instead of just personal annoyance.

and don't we all miss neutral milk hotel? obvious.

    ReplyDelete
  66. i suck at these games but i wanna play!

    1) 13 Qs
    2) 13 Roses: A Tribute to Chris

i miss u guys!! i have been busy but should be able to get online more this week.

  68. Keep the titles comin' freaks. I will choose a weiner for Round Two when we have several more.

We saw The Dark Knight today. Anyone else seen it yet? Quite good, though for me not as good as Batman Begins. And how come there were not more shirtless Christian Bale moments, hmmmmm? That boy is RIPPED!

Anyway, Heath (RIP) was great and it was a nice slice of Gotham goodness. Still preferred him as a sexy gay cowboy though. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  69. Thirteen Seconds Before the Next Postponement

Thirteen Seconds, A Measure of Delays

    ReplyDelete
  70. Oh, and Cat, it wasn't Robert who made the "F*** off" comment. You're confusing that with a comment from someone who was parodying Robert's style of writing after the majority of the North American tour dates were postponed.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Shawn, now you have made me question the incident, but I am next to POSITIVE that Robert himself wrote that. I remember reading it and being stunned. Fans on MFC and elsewhere have parodied it, yes, but RSX was the originator. I am almost sure of it.

However, I do believe WHO he said it to was misapprehended. I think he was speaking to the general hostility, not to anyone in particular.

    ReplyDelete
  72. craig, back me up. am i hallucinating again?

    ReplyDelete
  73. allô comment st'i va s'a beau monde la!

    ReplyDelete
  74. hey, i finely got one of these blogger accounts, and can post now. this place is rather entertaining. so, like how do you get in these chat room thingys? :-P

Btw, I think the album should be called 'Happy Ending'. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  77. I think the new album should be called "FINALLY"!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yes Cat, you are correct. It was RS who said "Fuck off yay", I remember it like it was yesterday cause I thought it was funny. Plus I printed it out (as I do with a lot of his comments, cause I'm a dork).

    ReplyDelete
  79. And the runners up for Round Two of the NAME THAT CURE ALBUM CHALLENGE are:

    Thir-fucking-teen

    13 Procrastinations

    13 Qs

And the WINNER for Round Two is:

Thirteen Seconds Before the Next Postponement

Congratulations, Shawn, for winning ROUND TWO of the NAME THAT CURE ALBUM CHALLENGE!

So now we have two contenders: For 13 Billion Years We Wait and Thirteen Seconds Before the Next Postponement.

Can you outwit the wittiest? Don't be SHY, peeps! Post your Cure album title ideas NOW! Just remember: your title MUST include the number 13!

Due to waning interest, the creators of this contest have decided to cut the number of rounds to THREE rather than thirteen!

And remember! The WINNER of the overall contest gets THIRTEEN soon-to-be-postponed dates with RSXXX himself! How can you refuse such a chance to be with Tongue-Boy? He's a CUNNING LINGUIST!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Only one round to go. I am going to have to put my thinking cap on.

    ReplyDelete
  81. It's a bit alliteration-heavy and rather defaming of the contest creator. 7BlueStars, you are hereby banned from Round Three. NEXT!

    ReplyDelete
  82. How about they call it:

"OK, I Admit It! We Lied! There Was Never a 13th Album To Begin With"

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  83. think the new DVD will be a Festival type pick of the 3 concerts?

    ReplyDelete
  84. This is totally off topic and there is not much going on in Cureworld the last few days, so I want to say this.

ANAH - I was reading the archives on the past reviews and saw yours for the Dream Tour show in San Diego in 2000. WOW - you've been on COF for a while! How awesome was your night that night???!!!?? You got to meet the band! I also remember the crowd being very bland.....

    You wrote:

"The audience was so not enthusiastic! I could not believe it. In my section, only a *few* of us were dancing, much less standing up! We did sing Happy Birthday with Robert to Simon
    though...and the show was incredible."

I was trying to dance, but alas I had just had a baby weeks before and was still HUGE from it and stitched in places a woman shouldn't be stitched. It was so hot and even though I was happy to be there I just didn't feel well that night. The two people I were with liked The Cure, but I don't think they knew anything other than what was ever played on the radio.

This last show in Charlotte, I was probably 60 pounds lighter so I was dancing my heart out. I hope I made it up to the band.......:)I was determined to be the loudest person in Charlotte!!!

What do you think? The Charlotte crowd was WAY more into it than the SD show in 2000. I know I was, but it was a personal thing for me, not the bands fault.

    ReplyDelete
  85. argh! sorry, should have read the thread before posting!

erm, 13 Bouts of OCD Later

'Can we get the bass drum to sound like a tent in a gale?'

    ReplyDelete
  86. DA: I hope that isn't the case. :-(

In other news, while re-arranging the books in my study, I FINALLY located the novel that RSX signed in 04. Man, what scribbly handwriting he has! I can't make ANY of it out, except the R of his name. He wrote something at the beginning before his name that I can't make out at all. Prolly says "Fuck off! Yay!" but one can never be too sure.

I like the fact that he signed the novel written by my creative writing instructor. Gives the whole thing interesting import.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Fun Game cat!!! I missed the 1st two rounds, here's my offerings for the 3rd!

If Only Tonight I Could Get it Together for the 13th!

To Wish Impossible Things like Releasing the 13th Album

    Why Can't I Release the 13t?

    ReplyDelete
  88. CPG: I thought the Charlotte crowd was good, but the best crowd of the five shows I attended was actually Ft. Laud. They started out LAME but at some point really picked up - and this despite their Copa Cabana attire. But Charlotte was better than ATL, I thought, and better than MSG. Austin was good, but in a good/bad way, with all the pushing etc.

Best SHOW of course was Charlotte. We NEED that DVD. RSX, don't hold out on us, PULEEZE. Charlotte is a coveted show, as you can see by the COF poll.

    ReplyDelete
  89. "It's a bit alliteration-heavy and rather defaming of the contest creator. 7BlueStars, you are hereby banned from Round Three. NEXT!"

    *ROFL*

    I heart u, Pussy, I really do!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Actually, it's NOT a novel. It's a collection of short stories. DOH!

    T-dork: Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... :-)

    ReplyDelete
  91. Ft. Lauderdale was MAGIC!!!

I felt decades younger for days afterwards. *SIGH*

Admit it Puss Puss, it made you feel home, whole, young, fun, free, clean! >:-D

    ReplyDelete
  92. I sure did feel "home, whole, young, fun, free, clean" after I pissed during that song!

    ReplyDelete
  93. I just have three shows to compare....ever.

    Irvine, CA 1996
    San Diego, CA 2000
    Charlotte, NC 2008

I'm so seriously jealous you got to see 5 on this tour!

Sounds like Ft. Lauderdale was the place to be! Copa Cabana attire, huh? I bet concessions were even selling tropical fruity drinks.....

    ReplyDelete
  94. Cat, my precious, one of these days, even if it means sneaking a few drops of veritas serum into your drink, I will get you to confess to fantasies of RSX singing Lovesong to you!

    ReplyDelete
  95. No no NO CPG2... if you had to attend only one 4Tour show, then IMO Charlotte was IT. I didn't see the Shrine or RCMH, true, and Ft. Laud was FABULOUS in so many ways (for one, we got The Kiss and THE Kiss ;-), but Charlotte was tops. Can't beat The Holy Hour, OV, DM and Faith, plus the incongruous FS segueway, plus everything else! Yummables!

I was bummed to miss RCMH with RSX skulking around in the balcony, but if I had to chose between the two, Charlotte would win out owing to the setlist.

Ft. Laud crowd was great, though...they got better as the night proceeded.

Yes, I think they DID sell fruity cocktails. LOL...

    ReplyDelete
  96. T: Lovesong is filled with gooey romantic sentiment. I prefer the bawdy sentiment of The Only One. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  97. indeed, why doesn't RSX go ahead and croon, "Oh I love oh I love what you do to my boner/when you slide it on in and make me come/oh i love oh i love oh i love when you DO ME"

I mean, why even try to veil it with cleverness at all?

    ReplyDelete
  98. OK I'm board at work as usual.

    Do We Really Need 13?

    Thirteen Tracks to Motivate Myself

    Thirteen Albums Doesn’t Add Up

Out of My Mind with 13 Imaginary Lemurs looking at 13 Piggies in the Mirror who are Like 13 Cockatoos and are in Love with 13 Loves Cats all dancing around with the 13 Shaking Dogs who are dusting lemon lies with 13 Caterpillars and Falling into 13 Snakepits eating the 13 Bannanafishbones..............

    ReplyDelete
  99. "indeed, why doesn't RSX go ahead and croon, "Oh I love oh I love what you do to my boner/when you slide it on in and make me come/oh i love oh i love oh i love when you DO ME"

I mean, why even try to veil it with cleverness at all?"

OMFG! Craig, you need to implement a rating system! ;-)

Damn it woman, leave me to my sentimental treacle fests, all right! I love, love, love Lovesong, so there! ;-*

    ReplyDelete
  100. CPG2---Oh I hope they release the Charlotte show on DVD too. That was the show to go to for this tour.

And I know how you feel about only seeing The Cure 3 times. I let a 16 year gap come between my last Cure show in 1992 to the shows I went to this year. I'm not happy at myself for not going to any during that time period but I couldn't go to any for on reason or another. Blah Blah Blah too much to go into now...for why I didn't.

So for me, I chose not get upset anymore. I'm enjoying what's happening now. The past is the past and I can do nothing to change ti. Hopefully we'll get more shows in the future.

OK now we need that new album from Robert soon!

    ReplyDelete
  101. 13 STD'S to give, 1 life to live

13 lbs of love in my pants

Friday the 13th: Robert VS Jason (this album is just Robert giving Jason Cooper a verbal lashing for not wearing eyeliner)

    ReplyDelete
  102. Even when we do come up with three album name possibilities.......

What are the remote chances Craig will post a poll for us all to vote? LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  103. T: Hence the RSXXX - he's triple X-rated lately, what will all this lingual action and bawdy lyrics.

And really, I thought the X thing was cuz Robert is brother to Malcom X... their descendents were slaves. This is evidenced in SWID very subtly: "Give it to the chicken...." alludes Malcom's speech "Chickens Coming Home to Roost." The chicken, of course, being WHITEY. "Give it to WHITEY and see if it freaks" is what RSX WANTED to say, but the Mighty U censored him.

Here some more of the REAL lyrics to The Only One... again, the Mighty U censored them and RSX retorted with his sticker "FUCK Parental Authority" (I was able to get ahold of the lyrics through a secret source - we'll call her "Friend of Cat"):

"Oh I love oh I love
what you do to my HEAD
when you pull on it hard
    and fuck me in bed
Oh I love Oh I love
what you do to my HEAD
    it's a mess on there"

I won't even bother you with the original Lovesong lyrics.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Very honest, CWC.

Except the last line should read:

"Oh I love Oh I love
what you do to my HEAD
uh-oh, we left a wet spot there"

    ReplyDelete
  105. Sorry - the wet spot reference still just makes me go...huh?

    Wet spot....really?

    Yeah.....Robert just said wet spot.

    LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  106. Except it has to work syllabically.

"oh i love oh i love
what you do to my head
    it's a wet spot there"

I'm still waiting for CPX (Craig) to give us his theological dissection of SWID.

    And I'm waiting... you PROM.ISED.ME

    ReplyDelete
  107. CPG: RSXXX, I tells ya. There's no stoppin' 50 year old horn dawgs! Lascivious to the core. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  108. I'm waiting for him to delete the last 4 posts. (blushing)

I don't mean to be raunchy!

    Robert started it!

    ReplyDelete
  109. Girls! Control yourselves!

What next, a song called 'A Warm, Wet 13-Strand Pearl Necklace'?

    ;-D

Not stop distracting me from my work -- pushing papers like a good government bureaucrat -- okay?

    XOXO

    ReplyDelete
  110. NO -7bluestars

But I think that Wet 13-Strand Pearl Necklace could be the next nomination for the album name!

    I love it!

    ReplyDelete

    LOL!!!!

  112. How about this:

'13 Reasons To Kill the Offal-Laden Official Site'...

Eww, it's so stinky over there!

  113. Btw, off-topic, and I shudder to ask... wtf does BSC stand for? (I noted that Craig pussed out when someone ask him in another topic. ;-))

    ReplyDelete
  114. No, I only answer PHT questions. And I only do that because it pleases V. ; )

    ReplyDelete
  115. *LOL*

    Riiiiiight....

v, please tell Craig that you would be ever so pleased if he would discuss BSC with me, m'kay?

    ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  116. That's it? Damn, not nearly as shocking as I imagined! ;-)

    Thanks, sweetie.

  117. You thought it might be Bobby Sucking Cock?

    ReplyDelete
  118. Cat, Robert was a little more direct in first live version played...

"Oh I love/oh I love/oh I love/what you do to my lips/when you pull me outside/and blow me like this

Oh I lowowowowve what you do to my hips/when you pull me inside/and suck me like this."

Just listen for yourself if you have it.

  119. Ha! Oh my god you guys, I am laughing so hard, I almost peed my pants! Priceless!

  120. I'm not sure I like the new image of BSC as much as I like the old image :)

    ReplyDelete
  121. Really Elise? Well, I'll take him now!

    *drools*

  122. MGG - I love the idea of Bobby Sans Clothes (BSC) very much, but Bobby Sucking Cock is just not right for my fantasy ;)

    ReplyDelete
  123. "You thought it might be Bobby Sucking Cock?"

No, dearest, but BSM (Bobby Sucking Microphone) isn't too much of a stretch. >;-D

Elise, what was your reaction to the RSX & Simon buss?

    ReplyDelete
  124. 7BS - I think I must have missed the Robert and Simon 'buss'. What is it?

    ReplyDelete
  125. Elise, courtesy of Rev. Heron:

    The kiss

I'd forgotten how beautiful the extra lyrics were (wish I could make them all out). RSX's voice was spectacular that glorious, magical night... *sigh*

Anyway, the 'buss' is near the end. It puzzles me why straight chicks such as myself found it to be an erotically charged moment, but then the same holds true regarding Frankenfurter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. :-)

  126. I had forgotten this one. I remember seeing this a while ago. It is a fabulous piece of video.

    Oooohhhhh, Robert

    ReplyDelete
  127. Aww, that was such a fun night, even for those of us watching from home. :)

    ReplyDelete
  128. You said it, v. I made memories to last a lifetime (or what's left of it) that evening. I've only two regrets: not witnessing Underneath the Stars in all its live grandeur, and attending more than one 4Tour gig. I don't mean to sound to ungrateful -- it was indeed my good fortune to be able to make it to even one. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  129. I could be wrong.....but the kiss was just a peck. They've been close friends forever, you know.

And it was very sweet! Awwww! I love that good bye at the end of the video - RS says "I'll see you again." Sounds promising????

Greek men, kiss each other the time, so do Spanish....it's a sign of affection. I've seen my step-dad give his best friend a peck on the cheek before.

It's not something my husband would do, but he's a bit of a homo-phobe. He doesn't have anything against people who are gay, he's just extremely afraid people will think he is. LOL!

I don't think the kiss means blow-job. But who knows, right? Who freakin' knows? They've been known to give each other a kiss here and there throughout the years. But again - they are like best friends. All I know is RS is a married man and he's married to a lovely woman and that's all I'm looking at.

Thanks Rev for the video. I love your collection on youtube!

  130. Catepillargirl2, let me stress that I did not intend to imply anything in regard to their sexual preferences. I saw it as nothing more than a decidedly theatrical moment -- PERIOD.

I will not, repeat not, engage in serious discussions of band members personal lives. It's none of my fucking business. Forgive me if my words suggested otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  131. 7bluestars - I don't think it was anything you said. I think it was more of the mood I got from the conversation that was going on several posts back. After reading back, no one really implied it.........

I'm sorry if it seemed I was going in the wrong direction with my post.

Trust me, my last post was basically stating that the kiss was didn't seem like a big deal. I just saw them as good friends in a theatrical moment, as you said, at the end of a brilliant show. A European high-five so to speak. :)

Either way....I enjoyed that video. What a great goodbye for the FL crowd! I also enjoy it when he adds lyrics, I've been paying alot of attention to that lately. He does seem to do it often.

  137. ???

    Did I miss something (important)?

  138. "SINCE WE GOT BACK FROM AMERICA
    I HAVE BEEN MIXING PARIS
    AND CHARLOTTE
    AND NYC SHOWS FOR TV/DVD"

I wonder if it will be a Trilogy type release???? It would be nice to see all three.....though I was really hoping to have a full-length Charlotte show.

Looks like the consensus on the COF poll is Paris, with Charlotte right behind it.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I agree CPG2, all three shows to be released like the Trilogy DVD would be AWESOME!!!

I just hope Robert decides to include every last minute from each show instead a little bit from this show, a little bit from that show etc...

    ReplyDelete
  140. LOL, kitty. That would be a 9 hour dvd if not more!

    Nice. :)

    ReplyDelete
  141. Nine Glorious hours of The Cure would be perfect but in reality I'm guessing it wouldn't happen. But still a girl can wish!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  142. I was just comparing the three setlists and there should be alot of variety to make a Trilogy type dvd.

I listened to the youtube clip for "Faith" in Paris and it was really awesome - so now I'm worried that the Charlotte version has too much competition. It was such a cool moment in Charlotte that I'll be sad if it doesn't make it on the dvd. :(

    ReplyDelete
  143. Oh CG2 I'm glad you got to see Faith in Charlotte. Must have been a magical moment for you! :)

And it must be hard for Robert to choose which version to included if he has to pick one. So put them both on, please! LOL!!!

The Cure performed it so unbelievably well at both shows. Wonder what's going to be end up on the DVD?

    ReplyDelete
  144. Well, it was just a special moment. I don't know how to describe it. And just seeing Robert so into it makes it that much more lovely. The lyrics are completely different on the Charlotte version whereas they were the original at the Paris show. Musically, the Paris version is just amazing! There are a couple of parts on the Charlotte version, like when Robert turns around to take a drink, where the guitar gets too close to the amp and there is a screech from the feedback. So it's got an imperfection, so to speak. I'm afraid he might be critical of that.......and maybe prefer the version with the original. I actually like that screech though. :) It happens, you know!

Yes, yes! Put BOTH versions on pretty pretty please?

    ReplyDelete
  145. Well, at least Robert's not going on about it being the last tour/album/whatever anymore... :)
