Help find an item lost at Toronto show

"Last week I attended the Cure gig in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre. I was standing in Row 4 in front of Simon, and towards the end of the show in the first pop encore set, I decided to throw a little keychain doll on stage for Robert, but I just barely missed. I have no idea where it landed, but after the show I went up front to check to see if it was near the stage, but no luck. This little guy has travelled with me quite a bit, and I was planning on making a book out of the photography I've been doing of him over the past year. It's really quite a sentimental thing for me, and I wish I'd never thrown him in the heat of the moment!

I'll offer cash if anyone has him and can return him to me. You can contact me at gericoady@gmail.com or through MFC (hellogeri) for those of you who read there.
Attached is a photo of what he looks like: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2057/2515130988_3aeca3fc42.jpg

  1. I'm still not clear why you would throw something so valuable to you - did you expect to get it back? What if Robert kept it?

  2. i think it was sort of a 'heat of the moment' thing that she'd probably take back in a nanosecond if she could. like when i told robert i'd like to do his laundry for him if he ever felt like it...i don't think i'd ever say that again.

  3. Okay, if you won't wash Robert's laundry, will you wash mine?

Oh, and regarding the doll, I'm sorry, but I didn't see it. It's too bad that I didn't know about it right after it happened, because I went up to the security barrier looking to get a setlist. They were probably already gone anyway, but the security guy with whom I talked was not especially helpful.

  4. I've never been to Toronto but I'll keep my eyes open for it.

  5. I threw it because I wanted Robert to keep it, but I was so close to the stage that I assumed I'd be able to throw it far enough! But I was wrong... and then regretted it after!

I've pretty much accepted that I won't get it back, but it's worth a try.

shawn-w: thanks anyways. :) I also went up to find it after, but security practically escorted me away while I was trying to have a look around.

  8. I used the base of another toy and "embellished" it to turn it into Robert. Everyone was shocked at the resemblance! I actually can get another one, and I am waiting for it to come to me so I can make a 2.0 version ;) But it's still not the same, you know?

    Ah well!

  9. Someone just emailed me, and told me they saw it in the guitar tech station at the SLC show last night!! Maybe I threw it further than I thought! :D

  13. I think I would buy one too, what a unique idea. That would actually be really cool of he did get it, or at least that it's travelling on the tour.
