Pornography and Faith vinyl release

From The Ideal Copy:
The Cure - Pornography (US 2LP) (March 25th)
The classic Cure album from 1982 pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Faith (US 2LP), originally released in '81, will be available the same day. Both reissues have been expanded to include several Bonus Tracks from the deluxe CD versions.

  1. It worries and surprises me that the original track order on these appears to have been wildly altered w/ the bonus tracks all mixed in.

  2. I agree, they should put it out in the original order, and put out the extra stuff on the other record. I love vinyl, it sounds 1000% better than mp3s or CDs, but I don't want to listen to some of these wierd outtakes - just the album on it's own.

  3. I'm hardly a purist but this is blasphemy! It kind of defeats the purpose of being able to listen to the original albums on hq formats only to have the tracklisting as two sort of "best of's" 1981/1982. Ridiculous really. Tempted to not buy them...

  4. I bought the 180 gram 'Three Imaginary Boys'. I will tell you, on a decent sound system with a modern turntable the sound is STUNNING.

I mean it was like having The Cure in my living room playing live it was so crisp - blows the re-master CD away.

So I'm looking forward to getting the rest of the albums in this format.

  5. i'm confused by this concern. the track order for faith and pornography are identical to the original track order (at least from what i'm seeing here (and i purchased the faith album)).. the extra stuff is on the second lp, and carnage visors gets its own side!

my biggest concern is that since these aren't label releases, they were probably not remixed or mastered for vinyl, but i'm sure they will sound better than my originals...

  6. Bugstuff, when they were first listed , they had the bonus tracks spread all over the place, breaking up the flow of the original albums. Glad they just had it listed wrong.
